I concur. great food but no delivery
Tried this place based off of a lot of positive reviews and was very disappointed. I ordered the general chicken combo and couldn't even finish the meal. The portion size was generous but the chicken was literally swimming in sauce. The flavor was bland and salty and the chicken was chewy. The rice was also bland. The egg roll was decent but, it literally was sitting in a puddle of grease. I would not recommend this place.
Always the best food, the best ingredients and speedy service. My favorite spot for crab Rangoon.
Very tastes and fufilling.... The Cashew Chicken Special comes with everything you need for a reasonable price. Plus it's all white meat at no extra charge. Thumbs up.
Best chicken fried rice in town.
Best food in town. 30+ years in business ought to tell it all!
Has the card reader sitting outside the window, with no hand sanitizer! So how many people are touching this reader, and no way to sanitize our hands? i can tell you by looking at it, that you all are not cleaning it either! And on top of it, food was horrible. What happened to this place?
Great food as always. No inside dining but patio was open. Of course they have to go ordering.

Best Chinese food in Springfield! Cheap and you get big portions.
Canton Inn has been a Springfield staple for decades. It’s your standard Springfield style Chinese restaurant and they’re very good at what they do. Canton Inn has perhaps the most loyal following of any Chinese restaurant in Springfield. Their prices are low. The owners and staff are very nice and service is quick. Inside is basic but always clean. They have outdoor seating which is rare for Chinese restaurants around here.
This was my favorite Chinese go to, place. It was window express. That was fine. What happened to the family who cooked the best dishes? It was horrible. I always have the same order. But it wasnt the same kind of food they are known, won't be visiting again.
This place is the bomb.com. Very good. Love there sweet and sour chicken and cashew chicken and there Lo mein And their chicken fried rice and their fried rice.
Recently in July of 2019, I visited Canton to go visit a friend nearby and I stayed at Heritage Grand Inn. The one-night stay was excellent. The room was clean, tidy and all the amenities in the room worked (lamps, TV, outlets, refrigerator, A/C). I was especially impressed with the bathroom which had a tile floor that was probably a floating plank flooring. They didn't put cheap, gaudy and plastic flooring but used tiles that were sophisticated and handsome. In the morning, there was cold cereal and bagels. I didn't expect a hot breakfast for paying so little for my room. When I am back in the area I hope to stay at Heritage Grand Inn.
Canton Inn is my favorite for comfort Chinese food. I’ve eaten almost everything on the menu over the last two decades and everything is good. The best cabbage egg rolls in Springfield in my opinion, and the egg drop soup is spectacular. The wontons and crab rangoon are always a good choice. The thing that makes Canton Inn the best to me is the sauce... when I think of cashew chicken and sweet and sour chicken, I think of the sauce at Canton Inn... it’s the best to me and has been since I first ate there in the late 90’s. This is definitely not a fancy place, but if you’re craving Chinese food done well across the board, Canton Inn is tough to beat.
Best Chinese in Springfield and definitely best Cashew Chicken. The Sesame Chicken gravy has a hint of ginger which I've never tasted before anywhere else. Good size portions also. Best quality Chinese I've had in this area.
The place was a C+. The food was like frozen Chinese food. There was nothing interesting about our meal. The facility was clean but lacked "atmosphere". Luke warm comes to mind when I evaluate this experience. The staff was friendly and the service was quick. Prices were average. The dining experience did not warrant a return visit.
Love this place!! Always the best cashew chicken and service!

This was my first visit here. This is a small, yet kinda cozy place with decent sized portions. Service was friendly...they offered me a free to-go drink refill on my way out, with a kind words & pleasant attitude, when they didn't have to. That counts equally as much for me as a low price does...a pleasant note of appreciation rather than a "pay up and get out" attitude goes a LONG WAY. I had the cashew chicken combo (includes rice, egg roll which appeared to be hand made, not pulled from a freezer and nuked, but I'm just guessing there) and a crab rangoon or wonton. I love, love, love crab rangoon, and theirs were tasty. All this plus a drink came to $9.87 with tax. This being Springfield, home of Cashew Chicken, they did not forget to put a few cashews & chopped scallions/green onions on top. 😁 No complaints!!
NOT your "generic Chinese restaurant". This is a Mom & Pop joint opened and ran since 1984 by Vietnamese immigrants. I've been coming here for General Tso's Chix since 1996. I dont get over there as much as I used to but during the height of my patronage, I was going there at least 3 times a week and turned MANY ppl on to the place!! The recipe is always just a tad different but you'll find out what the usual is and it's AWESOME!!!!
Food is good but nothing stood out as great.Pot stickers are deep fried which was weird to me, they are usually steamed or pan fried.Egg roll was pretty good. Cashew Chicken recipe was good but all my chicken was overcooked. They said it comes with white rice but gave me fried. Fried wontons were very good. And the sauce they gave with them was good too.Wings are plain, no marinade or sauce of any kind. They were cooked just the way we like them. Dipped them in the wonton sauce.
I had the chicken livers and they were great as usual.
Pretty good. We always get Springfield style cashew chicken when in town. The owner was really friendly. They do not have Sriracha sauce, so he gave me a hot chili sauce. My husband did not like the hot sauce, but I did. There were a few pieces of chicken that had a very strange texture. I don’t do well with odd textures. I still ate all but the two like that I found.
I've been going here since 1986. There's obviously a good reason why!!
Been eating here for over thirty years. Food is always great. Prices are reasonable.
Love family dinner nights here!!! Their egg rolls I really love. They are so jam packed full is ridiculously good!!!
Great tasting no frills Chinese food. The walls are covered with awards won by the quality inexpensive cuisine. The egg rolls and crab rangoons are fantastic. The chicken is nice and tender, not rubbery. Great location for grabbing a quick bite in Springfield. Right across the corner from Bass Pro Shops, Wonders of Wildlife museum and aquarium, Salvation Army and Red Racks thrift stores. The General Tsos chicken has a fragrant garlic flavor and is not very spicy at all. The sweet and sour is my absolute favorite! Make sure you check this place out.

Still one of my favorite Chinese-American restaurants in America. The Cashew Chicken is to die for.
Good cashew chicken. Small place. The ppl were nice as well. Def will come back if in Springfield

This place is a gem, what can I say. It's good food served fast with consistently great flavor. It's been around for a LONG time and will be around for a LONG time from now. It's small so dining in may not happen for you during peak hours, but don't et that stop you. They'll brown bag it for you and you can enjoy it at a nearby park or the outdoor seating.
Been going here for years and they’re quality has never changed AAA Chinese food very cheap and delicious best Chinese in town
I had the chicken livers and they were great as usual.
Very good Cashew chicken at repeat customer price. The staff there were very friendly and helpful. Don't be afraid to ask questions if you need to because they have no problem answering.
I love this place always good. Always fresh made.
Great service and reasonably priced.

Great Chinese food it was close to my son's house. And he could eat that seven days a week. So we decided to have dinner there. Really good cashew best I've tasted in a long time.
Best Cashew Chicken on the planet. Others are good but none compare to Canton Inn. The longer I am away from home the better it tastes the next time. Also, their General Chicken is different than the way others make it and it's delicious. Last but not least, hands down, the best Crab Rangoons too.
Good food for good prices- nice place to get take out.
